Posting Guidelines

Welcome to Nxtscript! We’re thrilled to have you contribute to our platform. To ensure a positive and collaborative environment for all members, please adhere to the following posting guidelines that govern the submission of all posts; scripts and articles, comments and reviews.

1. Content Guidelines

a. Original Work:

(1) Share only your original scripts or works you have the right to publish.
(2) Do not post scripts that violate copyright laws or infringe on intellectual property rights.

b. Respect Diversity:

(1) Be mindful of diverse perspectives and backgrounds when creating characters and storylines.
(2) Avoid content that promotes discrimination, hate speech, or stereotypes.

c. Genre Appropriateness:

(1) Clearly label your script with the appropriate genre to help users find content relevant to their interests.
(2) Use trigger warnings if your script contains sensitive or potentially distressing content.

2. Child Protection and Appropriateness

a. Exploitation of Children:

(1) Scripts posted on this platform must not involve the exploitation of children within the entertainment industry.
(2) Character roles should be suitable for the age group they represent.

b. Language and Situations:

(1) Children under 18 should not use explicit language or be portrayed in inappropriate situations.
(2) Ensure that character interactions and scenarios are age-appropriate and sensitive to the developmental stage of the child actors.

c. Age Awareness:

Recognising the industry’s growing awareness of child labour concerns and potential confusion for young actors taking on roles beyond their understanding the writer should consider the following. Animated films are the exception.

(1) Try to avoid posting scripts featuring children under the age of eight.
(2) Consider the expectations of a child on set to produce forced emotions. NxtScript does not uphold the use of child cry specialists who use loud and frightening means to make a child behave in a deliberately sad or frightened manner – This is abuse!
(3) Young children and babies are unable to express their career preferences, as such, at every stage of production (starting with the writer) consideration should be given to child actors.

3. Animal Protection Appropriateness:

These guidelines may feel like a burden, however animals often become ill and have died on sets. This is unacceptable, and it is up to every member involved in the industry to make sure that animals are not used on sets or their involvement is minimal and not exhaustive.

Exceptions to the following rules are animations or screenplays where mechanical or CGI animals are the expectation and not live animals.

a. Pet Appropriateness :

(1) Pet animals (dogs and cats) must not have roles in screenplays whereby there is an expectation for them to act beyond their natural self under ordinary (real life) circumstances.
(2) Pet animals (dogs and cats) must not have exhaustive roles but should serve only the occasional scene if entirely necessary.

a. Wild and Field Animal Appropriateness:

(1) Wild and field animals (including pets such as horses, rabbits, gerbils, etc…) should not appear in screenplays unless it is obvious they are animated, mechanical or CGI created.

4. Community Etiquette

a. Be Supportive:

(1) Encourage and support fellow writers in their creative endeavors.
(2) Celebrate successes and milestones within the community.

b. Respect Copyrights:

(1) Do not use or reproduce another member’s work without permission.
(2) Provide proper attribution when referencing or using external sources.

c. Engage Responsibly:

(1) Avoid spamming or excessive self-promotion.
(2) Report any inappropriate or offensive content to the moderators.

5. Constructive Feedback
